Basic Rhythm – New Style EP

After 2018’s impeccable East Man album ‘Red, White & Zero’, Anthoney J Hart returns under his Basic Rhythm moniker for a 4 track smasher on Sneaker Social Club.

The title track kicks things off nicely with its razor-sharp stabs punctuating the kick of the dancehall inspired rhythms.

‘Too Nuff’ is a cracking heads down affair which takes its cue from early Grime and Hardcore. Heavyweight Soundsystem music which leans on a massive industrial half pace snare.

‘London Warehouse’ is my favourite here. Cold, clinical and dark. Elements of early Warp releases, LFO, Sweet Exorcist, combine with freezing Pulse X vibes to create a great piece of modern minimalist dance music as only Anthoney J Hart can.

Finally ‘Ready Again’ closes things off nicely with its dark pitched down vocal samples and abstracted riddims mutating slowly into a slow tempo 4/4 affair.
